Not legal or tax advice

Employer Checkup provides general information and estimates about worker classification, information reporting and Form I-9 rules. It is not a law firm or accounting firm, does not provide legal or tax advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client or accountant-client relationship. For advice about your situation, consult a licensed employment attorney, immigration attorney or CPA.

Estimates, not determinations

The calculators apply general rules and published rates to the numbers and dates you enter. They don't decide whether any worker is an employee or a contractor, and they can't predict what an agency will assess. Actual liability depends on the facts, agency findings, interest, penalties, state law and any settlement. Deadline calculators follow the rules as written; confirm important dates against the current agency instructions.

No government affiliation

This site is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the IRS, the Department of Labor, USCIS, ICE, E-Verify, the Texas Workforce Commission or any other agency.

Accuracy

Rates, deadlines and penalty amounts are reviewed when published and updated when they change, but they may not reflect the most recent changes. Confirm current figures with the agency before relying on them.

This site is operated by Robert Jackson, who may offer related records-review services. Some pages may also include affiliate links to software or services; if you buy through them, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Services and affiliate links are labeled where they appear.
